RCB-6 Controller

DESCRIPTION RCB-6 is a motor controller for smart house applications. This device is used to control 6 motors which can move light loads (i.e. blinds) or heavier loads (i.e. drapes). The RCB-6 Controller is used in conjunction with 6 single phase reversible motors, each of which have a 120 VAC rating and a 2.5 A maximum. A low voltage 3 wire DC control bus is provided to simplify the external control wiring. This system is set up for easy interfacing with control computers or security systems. One advantage of the motors controlled by RCB-6 is that they can be run from a multitude of locations by simply paralleling the input controls.

The RCB-6 is a flexible system consisting of a relay module and optional logic modules. The relay board houses electromechanical relays, DC power supply and a universal header for interconnecting the logic modules.

The RCB-6, with relays only, is used in the simple installations. Momentary, or maintained switches can be used, depending on the control configuration: Momentary switches (with spring return to OFF) are required for paralleled controls to avoid conflicts. Otherwise, maintained two position switches are typical for this type of controls.

The RCB-6 controllers with logic modules can be used for more complex installations. Use of momentary switches allows operation from multiple control locations. The M-61 logic module features master (group) controls only. On the other hand, the M-62 module allows master and individual controls. Control computers or security systems can interface with RCB-6 using 'A' Form dry relay contacts rated 0.1 Amps min.; one contact for each direction. Knock outs are provided in three different sizes to allow for easy installation. The external wiring should be installed according to electrical code and should only be done by qualified personnel.
